Beauty sleep

After a strenuous day, don’t we all just look forward to dive into our beds, pull those sheets up, close our eyes and drift into sweet slumber? Sleep does wonders to our overall health. But sleeping at the right time and for adequate amount of time is very important to get maximum benefits.

What Time Should We Sleep?  Is there a best time to sleep?
There is a saying that – ‘Early to bed and early to rise, makes the person healthy, wealthy and wise.’  How true is that? Is it all right to sleep late and wake up late?  We actually have an amazing biological clock ticking inside our body. It is very precise. It helps to regulate our various body functions including our sleeping time.  From 11pm to 3am, most of our blood circulation concentrates in our liver. Our liver gets larger when filled with more blood. This is an important time when our body undergoes detoxification process. Our liver neutralizes and breaks down body toxins accumulated throughout the day.  However if we don’t sleep at this time, our liver cannot carry out this detoxification process smoothly.
If we sleep at 11pm, we have full 4 hours to detoxify our body.
● If we sleep at 12am, we have 3 hours.
● If we sleep at 1am, we have 2 hours.
● If we sleep at 2am, we only have 1 hour to detoxify.
What if we sleep after 3am? Unfortunately, we won’t have any time to actually detoxify our body.
If we continue with this sleeping pattern, these toxins will accumulate in our body over time. We know what happens next.

What if we sleep late and wake up late?
Have you tried going to bed very late at night? Did you realize you feel very tired the next day no matter how much you sleep?  Sleeping late and waking up late is indeed very bad for our health. Besides not having enough time to detoxify our body, we will miss out other important body functions too.

From 5am to 7am – This is the best time to remove the waste and toxins from the body, so poop! Also you should exercise and breathe in fresh air in this time frame. Take in good energy into your body, preferably in a garden. At this time the air is very fresh!

From 7am to 9am – After getting rid of the waste from your body, and finishing exercises, it is time to have a healthy breakfast. This is the most important meal of the day. Make sure you have all the required nutrients from the breakfast. Not having breakfast causes lots of health problems in the future.

There we are…the most ideal way to start our day!   After fully detoxifying our blood during our sleep, we wake up fresh to inhale beneficial energy. Then we pass out unwanted poop from our large intestine. After that, we take in balanced nutrients to prepare our body for a new day.

These days we have more difficulty in following this sleeping schedule. We have good lighting, TV and Internet to delay our precious sleeping time. That is why it is important to switch off the TV, laptops, cell phones etc at least an hour before bedtime. We need a minimum of 7 hours and a maximum of 9 hours of sleep depending on our daily lifestyle.  Beginning of a great day begins a night before. So let’s plan our sleep schedule to have great next day!

What if you have assignment to do until late at night or some other work? Well, why not sleep early and wake up earlier to do it? Just shift your work time from late night to early morning. In this way, you get the same time. But your body will appreciate it.

Try to follow this timing as close as possible. Make it your daily routine.

Sleep your way to a healthier you!
